Getting started on Touchline Sports

Short, practical walkthroughs for the things people do most on Touchline: setting up a profile, claiming one that already exists, running a squad, hiring, and getting seen.

Build a profile that gets you picked

  1. Sign up and choose your role: player, coach, scout, physio, referee, analyst or creator. Your role decides which sections appear on your profile.
  2. Complete onboarding: position or specialism, location, current club and experience level. Profiles with location and position show up in far more searches.
  3. Add a clear head-and-shoulders photo. Avatars are shown in search results, team squads and job applications.
  4. Fill your headline with what you do and where, for example 'Left-back, semi-pro, South London'. It is the first line scouts read.
  5. Add highlights, career history and certifications. Anything you leave empty is simply hidden, so a short honest profile beats a padded one.

Claim an existing profile

  1. Search your name on the People page. Many players and staff already have an unclaimed profile seeded from public league data.
  2. Open the profile and use the claim banner at the top.
  3. Tell us how we can confirm it is you: club email, a club staff contact, or a social account already linked to your career.
  4. Every claim is reviewed manually by our trust team, usually within a few working days. You will get a notification when it is approved.
  5. Once approved, the profile becomes yours to edit and the unclaimed label is removed.

Run a team or club page

  1. Create a team from the Teams page, or claim your club if it already exists.
  2. Invite your squad by email or shareable link. Players keep their own profile and appear in the squad list.
  3. Add fixtures and training so availability requests go out automatically.
  4. Use availability before matchday to see who is in, out or unsure, then confirm selection.
  5. Post announcements for anything the whole squad needs, from kit changes to travel details.

Post a job and hire

  1. Post a role from the Jobs page with location, level and compensation. Roles without compensation get noticeably fewer applications.
  2. Say what the commitment actually is: sessions per week, travel, and season length.
  3. Review applications in one list and message shortlisted candidates directly.
  4. Check badges before offering: FA, UEFA, first-aid and DBS credentials are verified by our trust team, not self-declared.

Hire services and equipment

  1. Browse For Hire for physios, analysts, videographers, drone operators and kit.
  2. Filter by category, location and verified-only, then sort by rating or price.
  3. Open a listing to see full details, pricing units and reviews from other clubs.
  4. Send a booking request with your preferred date. The provider confirms or proposes an alternative, and both sides get an email.
  5. Leave a review after the booking. Reviews are what make the marketplace usable for the next club.

Grow your network

  1. Follow players, coaches and clubs you work with. Their posts appear in your feed.
  2. Post match clips, results and availability. Short posts with a clip outperform long text.
  3. Request recommendations from coaches and teammates. They appear on your profile once written.
  4. Use saved items to keep track of jobs, services and people you want to revisit.
